The Tents:
A Look at the New Kids on The Block
at Fashion Week New York Spring 2009
By Wayne Harris
ARTSY? Yes somewhat. What an interesting concept the team of Nuj Novakhett came up with
in presenting their Spring 2009 collection. The space was white and very gallery-like and the
Feeling SPICY? Well Spice Girl Mel B is trying to spice up your life in the
bedroom and under your clothes with her new line of lingerie. The
energy of the crowd was jumping considering it was so early in the
morning. The show was short and sweet, like most of the pieces in the
collection. There was a constant variety in the show, from colors to
different types of styles. I think she will do well in her new endeavors and
we at Fashion Q&A wish her well. Ultimodirect.com

In a world where we are constantly bombarded with reality T. V. and its 15 minutes of fame stars, now we can even dress like
them! Or, at least shop at the stores they own! Chloe Kardashian presented a few of the things available at their Dash Boutique
in Calabasas, CA. The show displayed outfits every fashionista would kill to have in their very own closets! The crowd was really
pumped to see the clothes. but seemed more excited to get their own eye full of the E reality star from the show Keeping up with
the Kardashians. Shopdashonline.com

Wait! What year is this
again? I totally felt as if I
had gone back to the 80’s
with the Jordache show. It
left a bit to be desired! We
could start with the
models: They were less
than and the hair was like
mall hair all over again. I
was sure I saw Lisa
Turtle walking down the
runway. The jeans were
basically vintage replicas
and nothing felt new or
fresh about them; then, to
top it off, the shirts gave
us a light show...Yes
lighted shirts! One pair of
jeans even had lights in
the seam going down the
leg. I'd say, if you want to
keep a brand alive you
have to move forward,
and yet, still keep your
essence. From what they
showed on the runway,
they are stagnant.

clothes where displayed on a
white 3 ft high box in the middle
of the room with the girls
arranged in rows of 4, 16 in
total. Like vending machines,
the girls would stand for a bit
and then drop to the front and
move to the back to display the
next garments in line. The
mood of the crowd was very
relaxed and laid back. The
mood of the clothes seemed to
have a very 80's vibe with lots of
different studies on
construction; from draping to
heavily constructed pieces. The
colors of the collection
consisted of blue and crème
with touches of red and black.
Some pieces had a dirty
secretary vibe! Sexy!
