Nothing like a little couture to get a fashionista going in the morning! Farah Angsana gives you wearable couture for real
women! She has been a red carpet choice for celebs like Teri Hatcher, Carrie Underwood, and Olivia Wilde. Her collection
was brightly colored with amazing beading, long evening gowns and some great cocktail lengths as well. I hope in the
future we will see more of her collections on the red carpets as well as in your own closet!
FUN! FUN! FUN! Plenty of
things to wear in this collection!
I  would gladly wear any of the
things showcased at the
Sergio
Davila show. Lots of  layers,
blazers, sweaters and
cardigans, great for that spring
weather  that can be very
unpredictable!  Awesome
shades of blue, white, crème
and black, great textures and
prints! The music gave an
interesting  tribal feeling to this
collection, but  honestly, no
need for gimmicks or
over-the-top music to get you
excited. The clothes did enough!
Wowsa! Cho Cheng selected an
amazing venue to have his show.
The historic Astor Hall, in the
Public Library, at the other end of
Bryant Park, provided a very posh
feeling that only added to his very
high-end designs. His gift packet
had a lovely white rose wrapped
in a Cho Cheng logoed white and
teal scarf. The show opened with
an awesome red dress with lovely
French music playing  in the
background. It was like  being at a
Paris couture show. There were
several notable gowns and many
short jacket sets in an array of
bright spring colors. Ending on a
high note, with legendary
supermodel Carmen Dell’Orefice
making a rare appearance at the
show’s finale in a white polka dot
evening coat and trousers in wool
zibeline. It seemed made just for
her!
Fashion designer, interior decorator, design star judge...what's next? Cynthia Rowley is very talented - that's a given! Her awesome collection this season was
a testament to that. Giving us paneled layers with awesome beading and those super chic bags and belts! The space was a great warehouse space on the
far west side of Manhattan. The head of the runway had a huge working ticking clock, making the suitable statement: the times they are a-changin in  fashion.
They for sure seem to be changing  for Cynthia because she gave us a bit of a harder edge than is usual for her style. But as always, a stunning delivery.
Cynthia Rowley's statements for
the season include:

Transparency
Streamlined, scrim-like mesh and
organza layered over embroidered
graphic shapes. See-through
stretch tulle over satin stripes.
Details like panels and sleeves in
transparent black and striped
mesh.

Athleticism
Sleek, body-conscious, twice-knit
dresses. Outlines that re-map the
silhouette--the "silhouette in
motion" sheath. Super-modern
handbags molded from life-jacket
material. Black-and-white striped
shoes.

Bondage
Polished black linen that gives the
illusion of leather. Almost
seditionary cutaways and
criss-crossing straps with
utilitarian buckles. Black neck and
wrist cuffs in enamel and leather.
Elastic heels in white and black.
