Emporio Armani Runway Review

It's official. This season, the catwalk was all about the black opening number. At Emporio Armani it took a moment to register that the black monochrome wasn't going anywhere. It became
the central trope in the massive collection,  which left plenty of room for experimenting with silhouette and layering. Earlier there was a short open vest, which rested perfectly over the
peplum bow-to-belt on a black sleeveless dress. That dress was layered over a longer dress that peeked out beneath. It was a master play on proportion. Through all the cummerbunds,
peplum belts and Victorian puff-sleeves - our favorite number was the playful black on black embellished dog sweater. The fringed blanket wrap was another standout. We thought we had
seen all of the little dog, till
Phenelope Wulff took to the runway, clutching the pooch under her arm. Later that week, Armani would later send down a dress at his Giorgio Armani show, a
black dress with a frontispiece of his own beautiful, youthful mug emblazoned at an angle. We'd say this is Armani at this most optimistic. Showing that even in all that darkness, there is
always room for some levity.
