The Stella McCartney store in the Meat Packing District held a PETA event Thursday night, hosted by none other than 'Project Runway's' very own Tim Gunn (pictured above). Buyers,
investors, editors - everyone who has a voice in the world of fashion flocks to the runway shows that hit New York City twice a year. So to kick off Fashion Week Tim Gunn, along with
Olivia Munn and Academy Award nominated actress Taraji P. Henson, urged all in attendance to stop promoting the torture and killing of animals for the sake of fashion.

As he addressed the crowded boutique, Gunn mentioned how he does his best to shy buyers away from unethical products and how he was one of the leading pioneers against the use of
fur and leather as a professor at Parsons. He then presented Ms. Henson who relayed her earlier naïveté about the promotion of killing animals that's so prevalent in the fashion industry
and how she consequently trashed all those coats and bags that she once deemed "fly."

Henson unveiled PETA's latest
"I'd Rather Go Naked" campaign, in which she's featured looking absolutely sultry and stunning - without any help from fur or leather. After the unveiling,
Henson took a moment to tell FashionQandA.com about how she first became a fighter for the ethical treatment of animals. "It was when that documentary "I Am An Animal" aired on HBO,"
said Henson. "I just happened to catch it while I was channel surfing and I wasn't really looking for anything like that. But then I found that I couldn't change the channel. And I'm still haunted
by those images to this day. I'm a huge animal lover ... I grew up on a farm and I used to play with the cows and the chickens. When I got educated I just said 'I don't need that.' Ignorance is
bliss. We're not on horse and buggy anymore." Her response to those out there that can't shake their love for how chic they look in fur - "Wear a faux fur! I have one and it's fabulous!"
