Here are a few ideas on paint colors for your
bedroom.

BEDROOMS
Getting a good night's sleep can be difficult if
your bedroom isn't designed for sleep and
relaxation!  Color trends in the bedroom are all
about creating a personal space that expresses
your innermost desires. For many of us, that
means a soothing, comfortable retreat in which
we can relax and rejuvenate. Neutral colors are
perfect for the bedroom and are noncommittal
colors; these hues, in shades of medium to dark
browns, are perfect for the bedroom because
they are nurturing and satisfying to our souls.
Greens and browns are classic combos
because they are inviting and give the feeling of
warmth and coziness. Blue is a soothing color
because it reminds us of the water and the sky,
and gives that lovely floating feeling. Lavender is
by nature relaxing and induces a feeling of peace
and serenity.
One of the most common reasons to paint a room is to change its overall color and atmosphere.
When you choose a color, keep in mind the room you want to paint and what the overall décor, color
scheme and use of the room will be.  You may want to carry a swatch of fabric from your sofa, window
treatments, bedding or even pillows with you when you go to the paint store to make sure it’s a perfect
match, or even better yet, bring home color samples to see what you like best.  Most paint stores
charge a minimal fee for color samples, well worth the investment, especially when you will have to
live for a long time with the color you end up choosing. Pick soothing, relaxing colors for bedrooms
and bathrooms. For the kitchen, a bright color will produce a cheerful atmosphere, and in the family
room or game room, a high energy color will bring a fun feel to the room. Color is a matter of personal
preference and it should reflect your decorating style and the overall atmosphere you want to create.
Colors can give us an emotional
reaction, especially in interior
decorating.  So it is important to
know what emotions certain
colors evoke. If you are aiming for
a peaceful, calming space, like a
bathroom or bedroom, decorating
in neutrals such as warm beiges
or browns, soft blues and greens
may be what you want. If you are
aiming for a more energetic room,
like a kitchen or a family room, you
may want to decorate with vibrant,
fun colors. But each of us has
specific colors that we love and
hate. Some people see blue as a
depressing color, while others
think of the ocean. The color green
might be seen as an envious or
jealous color, while it reminds
others of the natural world. You
may want a bright, cheerful yellow
kitchen, but if your kitchen is
already strongly lit with sun and/or
fluorescents, painting the walls
yellow might be a little
overwhelming.
