Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week at Smashbox Studios
wrapped up its Spring 09 season which featured an exciting
lineup of emerging, veteran and international designers.  
Press, buyers, stylists, celebrities, industry professionals
and sponsors were all in attendance to watch the designers’
presentations make their way down the runways of Culver
City.

The schedule of designers included Kevan Hall and was
followed by Suh-Tahn, Sheiki Collections, Whitley Kros, Ed
Hardy presents Street Fame by Christian Audigier, Julia
Clancey, Beach Bunny Swimwear, Elmer Ave, D’Amore by
Marceau, Viridis Luxe, Lana Fuchs, Joseph Domingo,
Crispin & Basilio, Lauren Conrad Collection, Eco-Ganik,
Debra Davenport, Christian Audigier presents American
Lord, Leila Hafzi, Nonja McKenzie, Tulle & Cloth Logic,
Samora, Amelia Toro and The Green Initiative Humanitarian
Fashion Show.

In addition to the world’s leading journalists, editors,
producers and retailers, the celebrities watching from the
front row in the tents included Heidi Klum, Miley Cyrus, Billy
Zane, Aubrey O’Day, Kourtney Kardashian, Kim Kardashian,
Joel Madden, Brandon Davis, Anne Archer, Mena Suvari,
Anthony Hamilton, Christine Devine, Christopher Masterson,
Dania Ramirez, Golden Brooks, Selena Gomez, Tia Mowry,

The Mercedes-Benz Star Lounge at Smashbox Studios,
designed by Wendy Creed, was the place to be throughout
the week for VIPs including customers, celebrities and
media.  Under the tents, Mercedes-Benz displayed its all new
2010 GLK available this January and the 2009 GL BlueTec, a
50-state clean diesel SUV that experiences 20-30 percent
higher fuel efficiency over comparable gasoline engines.   
The second lobby at Smashbox Studios featured a special
edition 2009 S550 Sedan that was designed specifically for
KEY TO THE CURE. As a partner with the EIF Women’s
Cancer Research Fund and Saks Fifth Avenue , Mercedes
will raise $1 million for KEY TO THE CURE through the sale
of only 1000 of these special edition vehicles.

This season as one of the official sponsors, Smashbox
Cosmetics, offered guests a sneak peak of its Holiday
Collection.  Makeup touch ups were done on-site in several
locations by professional Smashbox makeup artists.  Once
they were looking glam and gorgeous, guests could step into
the Smashbox Photo Booth to snap some photos of their
new look.  

The glitz and glamour continued at Mercedes-Benz Fashion
Week at Smashbox Studios this season with Judith Ripka.  
Guests previewed their newest 18K Couture Collection
exclusively in the Green Room for VIPs.

Fashion Week Los Angeles was a whirlwind of fresh and fun
styles for Spring 2009. Thankfully, to all-stars like Kevan Hall,
Julia Clancey and Samora, who shut the catwalk walks down
with their high-end designs and quality craftsmanship that
Fashion Week Smashbox will continue on it momentous
pace to establish itself as a credible contender in the arena
of international fashion week showcases.
