The Big Apple played host to the annual 2008
International Esthetics, Cosmetics & Spa Conference
(IECSC), held at the Jacob Javits Convention Center in
New York. Attendees had the pleasure to view the latest
hair care products and the hottest trends in health and
beauty. I was on the scene scooting the latest and
greatest products for you to try and below are my top 3.
Arrojo
We’ve all seen him work his magic on TLC’s “What Not to Wear,” but I was fortunate
enough to see him in person doing what he does best – razor cutting. Nick Arrojo stood
only feet away from me, cutting the hair of a beautiful, long-haired brunette. The final
look was a fresh, tousled shag with swinging bangs that was so cool. The artist
recently launched his own line of hair care and styling products which he showcased at
IBS. A product gift card is available online for purchase that can be directly delivered to
the recipient (or you) via email, which can be used at www.arrojoproducts.com.

Spice
I was given a handful of free samples from Spice, Japan’s best-selling styling products.
The packaging system is color-coded, making it easy to spot your favorite Spice. I like the
products I’ve used, but ordering more of them appears to be a challenge as the website
(www.spice-net.jp) is written only in Japanese (with no “English” option). I was able to find
a portion of their series on www.adiscountbeauty.com. My personal favorite is Spice Sister’
s Wax…Lame Wax 1.25 oz $18.95 (medium setting powder adds glitter, sparkle and shine).
CHI
Straighten your hair in style with CHI’s popular and powerful, classic but
aesthetically-improved Glacier Ice. The tool is a 1 inch, ceramic flat iron. The
new model sports a shimmering ice blue finish with rhinestone emblazoned CHI
logos (www.chiretail.com).
