Vampire Weekend
Vampire Weekend Paint to This
Reflective and fun, somebody needs to throw
this in their next Indie film soundtrack.  Mellow
enough for a sunset, yet contemplative enough
for Sunday afternoon art session.  With this
January 2008 release the band has shown their
ability to entertain with joy. Check them out this
summer at the New York City Central Park
summer stage on June 14, 2008, its a free
concert, so no excuses ($9.99).
Avenged Sevenfold
Avenged Sevenfold
Rock out to this edgy album. Although this is the bands 2007
release, I love it, it is truly a rock masterpiece. Easily listened
alongside AC/DC and Metallica, Avenged Sevenfold is a part of
the pantheon of great rock-in-roll genius.  The band is a
modern day fusion of metal, rock and melody. Gritty storytelling
full of humor, mayhem and triumph, these boys have been
paying their dues in the independent underground rock
scene for years.  If you need a head banging heart pounding
tune, you need this album! Check out the last of their tour
dates this summer ($13.99).

You're Awful, I love you
Act like a teen to this beat, sarcastic, witty and at
times this album is just plain silly.  Indulge in the
freeness of the midsummer to this album.  The
perfect heat wave soundtrack to roll to the beach or
plan your next TP raid.  It feels like the kind of music
the kids will be listening to this summer, fun for
everyone. This is also an early Spring release from a
band yielding a cross country summer tour ($8.99).
Sun Kil Moon
April
Mellow out to this cut from the cloth of an era
long since past, this music speaks to this
generation of lost, tortured, beautiful souls. Their
tour began in Spring and continues through the
summer.  Think modern day beatnik you, this
soundtrack makes you just want to sit and think
about that old flame. Ethereal, moving
storytelling for a new generation of ears ($10.99).
Madonna
Hard Candy
Call the girls up and get ready to go out! Tasty and sticky
sweet, Madonna delivers a fun girls anthem album. Perfect for
a lady's night out on the town this album is both a return and a
departure for this lyrical chameleon.  There are enough tracks
to keep you dancing, singing along and pounding your feet to
her intoxicating beat.  I am sure this album will be on my
favorite list for a while.  Who wouldn't want to hear Madonna
revamped ($11.99)!
